Final Fantasy Resonance dialogue choices: which answers raise your stats
All eight story conversations in Final Fantasy Resonance that raise a stat, what each answer gives, and which one suits each character.

Spoiler warning. This guide names bosses, areas or story moments. Bigger reveals stay hidden in spoiler blocks until you open them.
Quick answer
Eight story scenes ask Rain how he wants to respond, and each answer gives one character a small permanent boost: +3 to a stat, or +10 MP or +30 HP. Nothing in the story changes, and you only get one answer per scene, so I’d pick the stat that character’s weapon relies on. The Vision quiz answers do nothing at all.
The first of these turns up before you’ve even reached the Earth Shrine in Final Fantasy Resonance, and it looks like any other bit of conversation. The answer you pick is stored as a permanent bonus. The rest follow one at a time through Chapter 6, and between them they cover every member of your party.
All eight dialogue choices
Every question has three answers, and they always appear in the same order. The table lists them top to bottom with a short summary of what each one says. Seven are here, and the eighth is folded away below because it gives away a late reveal. In every scene except the first the boost goes to the person Rain is talking to. The Earth Shrine one is Rain’s own.
| Scene | Top answer | Middle answer | Bottom answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rain, Chapter 1, before the Earth Shrine | Take the lead: Strength +3 | Stay careful and ready to retreat: Stamina +3 | Keep an eye on each other: Spirit +3 |
| Fina, Chapter 1, after Siren’s Tower | Lean on her strength: MP +10 | Leave the defending to her: Stamina +3 | Tell her she’s doing great: Spirit +3 |
| Lid, Dilmagia shipyard, where Chapter 2 hands over to Chapter 3 | We’ve got your back: Strength +3 | His brother might have a reason: Magic +3 | Siblings stay siblings: Stamina +3 |
| Nichol, end of Chapter 3 in Olderion | Ask for strategy advice: HP +30 | You’re properly part of the team now: Magic +3 | Keep the suggestions coming: Speed +3 |
| Lasswell, Chapter 4, Rebel Hideout after the Weapons Factory | His magic hits harder: MP +10 | The Ignis fight must have left a mark: Strength +3 | He’s moving faster: Speed +3 |
| Jake, start of Chapter 5 in Zoldaad | Glad to have him: HP +30 | His rifles will come in handy: Strength +3 | Promise to fight alongside him for the world: Stamina +3 |
| Sakura, Chapter 5, Village of Sunioo | Her magic helps against the Sworn Six: MP +10 | Thank her for the wisdom: Magic +3 | Travelling with us is never dull: Spirit +3 |
Spoiler: the Chapter 6 choice
This one is Archwitch Fina’s, in the Research Center Ruins after you pick up the White Jade Stone. The top answer (say she looks sad) gives MP +10, the middle one (admit you’re worried) gives Magic +3, and the bottom one (a hesitant “sort of”) gives Spirit +3. I’d take Magic. Her sub quest adds HP +100, MP +30, Magic +30 and Strength +20 on top.
What the stats do
Four of the stats feed straight into damage. Strength plus your weapon is your physical attack, and Stamina plus your armour is your physical defence. Magic plus your weapon is your magic attack, and Spirit plus your armour is your magic defence. HP, MP and Speed are the ones you already know.
A +3 on any of those is small. A character’s own sub quest pays out far more, which is worth remembering while you agonise over a menu.
| Character | Sub quest | Permanent bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Jake | Token Legacy | HP +100, MP +30, Strength +30, Stamina +20 |
| Lid | Beyond the Blue | HP +100, MP +30, Strength +25, Magic +25 |
| Nichol | Nichol’s Duty | HP +100, MP +30, Magic +30, Speed +20 |
| Fina | Shimmering Reflections | HP +100, MP +30, Spirit +30, Magic +20 |
| Sakura | Mysidia, Ever Blooming | HP +100, MP +30, Magic +30, Spirit +20 |
| Lasswell | The Twin Titleholders | HP +100, MP +30, Strength +30, Speed +20 |
| Rain | A New Leaf | HP +100, MP +30, Stamina +30, Strength +20 |
Each character’s sub quest also counts towards the Conscience Renewed trophy, so you’ll be doing them anyway.
Which answers I’d pick
My rule is to take the stat your character’s weapon uses. Rain’s greatsword, Lid’s hammer, Lasswell’s katana and Jake’s rifle are all physical, so those four get Strength. Nichol’s grimoire and Sakura’s rod run on Magic, which makes that the pick for those two.
Fina is the one who doesn’t fit, because none of her answers touches damage. She’s your healer, so I’d take the +10 MP and let her cast a little longer (long fights are where it pays off). The Stamina and Spirit options are the safer picks if she keeps getting flattened.
Nichol and Jake each have a +30 HP answer, and it looks bigger just because the number is. Their sub quests hand out +100 HP later, so I’d skip it. If you’d rather build someone differently, take whatever fits that plan.
Missing or redoing a choice
You can’t skip these, because each one sits inside a story scene, and you’ll have met all of them by Chapter 6. You only get one answer and the bonus is permanent. To see what another answer does, reload a save from before the scene. The game has one autosave and ten manual slots, so keep a manual save from before each of these scenes.
Vision quiz answers
Every Sanctum of Light asks three questions about the hero whose Vision you’re collecting, and none of the answers matter. You get the same Vision however you reply, with the same stats, abilities and Resonance attack. A few answers change a line or two of the hero’s closing words and that’s the only difference. Read them for the story, since there’s nothing to optimise and a few of them are nicely written.
