Castlevania Belmont’s Curse all weapon locations: where to find all 28
Where to find all 28 weapons in Belmont's Curse, with the tier, ATK and steps for each, plus the seven Legendaries and the abilities that gate them.

Quick answer
There are 28 weapons in Belmont’s Curse, four in each of seven families, going from Ordinary (25 ATK) to Refined (50), Masterpiece (75) and Legendary (100). The seven Legendaries are Vampire Killer (beat Death), Excalibur (Arthur, in the Notre-Dame Chapel), War and Famine (the organ puzzle), Chauve-Souris (Isaac), Alucard’s Sword and Shield (Alucard’s Tower), Bernhard’s Wrath (Hall of Mirrors) and Valmanway (Scales of Justice). Where to find every one is below, area by area.
Light spoilers. I name areas, bosses and abilities. Nothing about the story.
You start Belmont’s Curse with a longsword, and everything else is in chests, boss rewards and a few puzzles the game never explains. There are 28 weapons. Here is where each one is.
How weapons work
Weapons come in seven families: whips, one-handed swords, two-handed swords, dual swords, spears, fists and sword and shield. Each family has four weapons, one per tier. ATK is 25 for Ordinary, 50 for Refined, 75 for Masterpiece and 100 for Legendary. The one exception is Valmanway, a Legendary sword with only 75 ATK. Mana per hit stays the same inside a family, so a higher tier never costs you mana. Every weapon you find goes into the Armoury, and you swap them in the Equipment menu.
| Family | Combo finisher | Mana per hit | Legendary effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whip | Whip Drag | 3 | Vampire Killer sets enemies on fire, and kills explode |
| One-handed sword | Dash Through | 3 | Valmanway hits a second time after a short delay |
| Two-handed sword | Blade Dive | 5 | Excalibur fires bolts of light |
| Dual swords | Blade Flurry | 2 | War and Famine leaves a damage buff on the ground after a combo |
| Spear | Push | 3 | Chauve-Souris homes in on up to two enemies and pierces |
| Fists | Uppercut | 2 | Bernhard’s Wrath heals you as your combo count rises |
| Sword and shield | Shield Bash | 4 | Alucard’s Sword and Shield teleports you as you attack |
Each family also has a shared move. Whips do the most damage at the tip. One-handed swords hit harder right after a backdash or slide. Two-handed swords charge while you hold the button. Dual swords let you extend a combo when a hit lands. Spears are aimed and thrown. Fists add damage with each hit in a row, and sword and shield blocks frontal hits while you hold attack.
Abilities you need for weapons
Several weapons are behind a movement ability, so you will leave them and come back. This is what unlocks what.
| Ability | Where you get it | Weapons it opens |
|---|---|---|
| Arcane Whip | Sewers under Paris, after The Fallen | Cestus, Thorn Whip, Durandal |
| Holy Light | Paris Streets, after Joan of Arc | Bastard Sword, Claymore |
| Smash | Clock Tower, after Talos | Almace and Hauteclaire, Gungnir, Joyeuse, Arondight and Lancelot’s Shield |
| Aerial Rush | Library, after Carmilla | Morning Star, Durandal |
| Double Jump | Choir in Notre-Dame, after Death | Durandal, Alucard’s Sword and Shield |
Durandal is a Library weapon, but it needs Double Jump, so you can’t take it until after Death. Plan for that and you won’t stand in Lisa’s Laboratory wondering what you missed.

Legendary weapons
There is one Legendary for each family, and none of them are in an ordinary chest.
Vampire Killer
Beat Death in Notre-Dame, then go to the Deacon’s Quarter and speak to Trevor. It is the only Legendary you don’t have to search for. It is a whip, 100 ATK and 3 mana per hit, and the tip sets enemies on fire. Anything you kill explodes.
Excalibur
This is in the Chapel in Notre-Dame, on the right side near the East Gallery Mirror of Life. Equip the Fist of Talos Arcana, which you get from beating Talos, then interact with the sword in the stone. That starts an optional fight with King Arthur, and winning gives you Excalibur. It is a two-handed sword with 100 ATK and 5 mana per hit, and its attacks fire bolts of light.
War and Famine
Great Organ Room in Notre-Dame. You count the candles in the Stained Glass Gallery, step on the organ keys in that order and take the dual swords from the vault below. The full steps are in our War and Famine guide.
Chauve-Souris
Heart of the Clock in the Clock Tower. Use Death’s Soul Harvest Arcana on the cursed clock to open the way, beat Isaac, The Zealot, and pick the spear up off the floor. It is 100 ATK with 3 mana per hit. Its throw homes in on up to two enemies and pierces through anything in the way.
Alucard’s Sword and Shield
Alucard’s Tower in the Main Hall. Go through the portrait passage and put out all five blue flames, which needs Double Jump. That opens the hidden bedroom, and the weapon is in there. It is 100 ATK with 4 mana per hit. You teleport toward the target as you attack, and a charged attack rushes you at it.
Bernhard’s Wrath
Hall of Mirrors, in the Level Deviled room. Kneel at the large mirror to be taken to a secret arena, clear every wave and take the gauntlets. Reach the Hall of Mirrors first, because the area doesn’t open up straight away. These are 100 ATK with 2 mana per hit, and you heal as your combo count goes up.
Valmanway
Palace of Justice in Paris Streets. Stand on the left pan of the Scales of Justice and give up health and mana until the scales balance, then hit the reward orb. You need enough Brave Heart and Wise Heart upgrades to do it, so this is a trip back later and not an early one. Valmanway is 75 ATK, the only Legendary under 100, and every attack hits a second time after a short delay.
Which weapons to get first
You don’t need all 28. Vampire Killer comes with the story, so there is nothing to decide there. War and Famine is the one I would go out of my way for, because it is 100 ATK, it needs a puzzle and not a boss, and you can do it as soon as you have Aerial Rush. Chauve-Souris and Excalibur each need a fight, and Bernhard’s Wrath needs the Hall of Mirrors, so those come when you are in those areas anyway.
Everything we have for the game is on the Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse hub.
